The counseling and guidance program here at Riley Creek is based in the American School Counselor Association's National Guidance Model. This model consists of four quadrants, which are the Foundation, Delivery System, Management, and Accountability. The Delivery System is the quadrant which illustrates the activities, communications, and techniques necessary to deliver the program.
The Delivery System consists of four components: Guidance Curriculum, Individual Planning, Responsive Services, and System Support. To fulfill the Guidance Curriculum component of the Delivery System, I provide structured classroom lessons, designed to provide all students with developmentally appropriate knowledge and skills in the areas of academic development, career development, and personal/social development. In addition, I support students individually in creating personal goals and future plans, which fulfills the Individual Planning component of the Delivery System. Within the Responsive Services component of the Delivery System, I perform more commonly known responsibilities of a school counselor, including individual counseling, group counseling, grief counseling, and crisis counseling. Our comprehensive guidance program requires administration and management to evaluate, improve, and preserve the effectiveness of the total program, which is the System Support component of the Delivery System.
